A harmony of old and new.
The most exciting part of this Maine ship chandlery renovation was the two new structures we designed and connected to the main house with bridges. The bridge on the first floor doubles as a kitchen for the old and new buildings. The first new building is a family room with a master bedroom suite above, and solar panels on the roof. The second bridge connects the master suite to the study above the newly built but very “old Maine” garage. The garage is sheathed in reclaimed Maine barn board.
